Test Prep at Axios
At Axios Tutoring, our test preparation process is results-driven and data-based. We continuously refine our strategies by measuring multiple data points and closely monitoring progress to ensure every student reaches their potential. As tests change and evolve, we stay on top of the trends to ensure our guidance is on point.
Don't know where to start when preparing your child for ACT/SAT testing? You don't need to worry because at Axios, we plan before enrolling and look for the most optimal path to success as defined by YOUR goals. We employ a holistic approach to test preparation that includes utilizing the best tutors, exploring test design, implementing strategic solutions, and practicing on hundreds of test questions. Only by understanding a test's underlying characteristics can a student meet or exceed their potential. Learn more about our individualized process below.
We expect to see result gains of 100-300 points on the current SAT, 3-6 score point improvement on the ACT.
Diagnostic Testing
All Axios services begin with our Diagnostic Testing. All colleges and universities in the country accept ACT and SAT equally, and both have become popular among Pittsburgh area students. For lack of better guidance and knowledge, most students end up preparing for both tests, but there is no need for students to divide their efforts practicing for both or for parents to spend unnecessary funds focusing on both.
Axios Diagnostic Testing allows us to determine where your child currently is, but it also helps us gauge their strengths and challenges, which helps us build the best path forward for them to achieve their best.
After Axios Diagnostic testing, you will know:
Which test best matches your child’s academic abilities
When your child should target to take the test
How your child can be best prepared for the test
Optimal Path to Success
Every student comes to Axios with a unique starting point and distinct goals. Our approach begins with understanding those goals and designing the most effective path forward. Whether your aim is to improve SAT or ACT scores, become a National Merit Scholar, or gain admission to a top-tier college, we tailor our program to fit your needs.
After conducting an initial diagnostic assessment, we create a custom roadmap for your child’s test preparation. We balance their academic workload, extracurricular commitments, and personal learning style to ensure sustainable progress. Our process is data-driven and adaptive, allowing us to fine-tune strategies based on performance and feedback.
To meet your student’s needs, we offer a range of learning formats: small group classes, one-on-one instruction, and both in-person and virtual sessions. No matter where you are in the journey, our goal remains the same: to help your student achieve results and gain the confidence to succeed.
Axios provides students with the most innovative, creative, and successful test preparation regimen taught by our professional instructors.
A strong relationship between the student and tutor is at the heart of any learning. Your student's education is too important to trust it to anyone less than a qualified, certified instructor. We invest in a hand-picked team of tutors who are educators with years of successful teaching experience, a passion for teaching, interesting life experiences, and a variety of teaching styles that make students responsive, challenged, and excited to learn. Beyond this, they deeply understand how the learning mind works.
What makes Axios even more unique is that our team works closely together, overseeing your child's development to ensure we are on the right path to achieve their goals and make adjustments where needed.
We believe in every child's ability to succeed. Our goal is to instill that confidence in your students through consistency and hard work.
Highly Experienced Educators
Return on Investment
95% of our students achieved the scores they were targeting for the test that we identified as the one they would be more successful at during our Diagnostic Testing. That fact can be attributed mainly to our highly personalized approach and designing the program that fits your student's learning style, scores, goals, etc.
Our evaluation of whether the SAT or ACT is better suited for a particular student has definite value for families:
Time, effort, and money "chasing" the wrong test are not lost.
Our testing schedule is specifically designed so that students have a healthy balance between test prep, academics, and extracurricular activities.
Plus, the summer before their senior year can be a great jumpstart to the college application process.
Avoid testing fatigue from having taken the test too many times.
